US Senate Hands Over to the Executive the Power to go to War
The Republican Senate with few exceptions a collection of highly stupid people has voted to give away Congress’ power to declare war to the Executive Branch. The Republicans refused to limit Trump’s power to launch military action against Cuba without congressional approval.
The Republicans argued that a blockade of energy, food, and medicine does not constitute hostile actions, thus making Trump’s threat to invade Cuba immune to the War Powers Act.
The US Congress has just about reached the irrelevance of the Roman Senate, leading to the rise of Caesars.
