The Israel Lobby Rules

Ron Unz reports that the Israel Lobby’s primary defeat of seven-term US Representative Thomas Massie was secured by a television ad funded by Jewish billionaires that accused Massie of having an adulterous affair with left-wing Democrats Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilan Omar. Included was an artificial intelligence generated video of Massie entering a hotel room with both women for a threesome.
Americans should be ashamed and disturbed that elections are decided by libelous mud-slinging that is obviously false and intentionally avoids debate over any real issue. We might think that Americans would be well enough informed to know that the Israel Lobby was after Massie and that American voters would be too alert to fall for an AI libelous creation. But they are too insouciant to understand anything. Unz explains: “To older, less technologically sophisticated Republican primary voters, ‘seeing was believing’ and I don’t doubt that almost all of them were sure that the faked images were absolutely real.” Democracy is dysfunctional when voters are this stupid.
I admire Ron Unz’s willingness to take up issues that most everyone avoids. I have long emphasized that Americans live in an artificial reality created for them by powerful interest groups. There is a large number of organized interests who will tell any lie and create false narratives that serve their agendas. The legacy media and increasingly alternative internet media created by these interest groups serve to trap people into the false narratives.
Consequently, democracy cannot function and the public interest cannot be served, because the majority of the US population cannot tell fiction from fact. In Kentucky an insouciant and ignorant population voted out of office a person who represented them and put in his place a shill for the Israel Lobby. Every politician in the US witnessed this, and the result is to greatly strengthen the Israel Lobby.
Once democracy is expanded beyond intelligent people who are property owners, it has always failed. Mass democracy has always resulted in the dissolution of the political unity. The ease with which the Israel Lobby removed Thomas Massie shows how far gone the United States is.
Unz thinks our youth are more aware than our elders. Perhaps, but the educational system is used to indoctrinate our youth into a false reality, so I don’t have Unz’s optimism.
Unz goes on in his article to remind us of how Washington shielded Israel from accountability for attacking the USS Liberty, of reasons Israel had to assassinate President John F. Kennedy, of Israel’s role in 9/11, of the Zionist neoconservative takeover of all conservative publications, foundations, and think tanks, and Israel’s hand in the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Unz’s article is long as his articles are, the reason being they are full of information. If the American population had this information, it might be possible for the United States to again be a sovereign nation.
