Russian foreign minister Lavrov still doesn’t understand
Lavrov accuses Trump of throwing out long-standing rules of international conduct and replacing them with “might makes right.”
The rules of international conduct were thrown out in 1991 when Washington proclaimed the Wolfowitz doctrine of American hegemony. Russia has suffered from this doctrine for 35 years and Lavrov is unaware of it. Lavrov says Russia will continue its dialogue with other countries on the basis of equality, but Washington doesn’t grant equality to Russia. Russia’s negotiations are pointless. They indicate a total lack of perception.
