“I have just concluded a highly successful discussion with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, wherein it was agreed that Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel to the American and Global Marketplace, another 500,000 Tons during the month of November, and 1,000,000 Tons immediately thereafter. Additionally, based on the condition of their Diesel Refineries, Russia will then deliver, within a short period of time, 3,000,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel.”

Trump Announces Russian Diesel Deal With Putin
President Donald Trump on Friday announced a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin to release Russian diesel into U.S. and world markets. The U.S. will obtain diesel from Russia, unilaterally relaxing years of sanctions pressure on Moscow. Trump said the move is intended to combat fuel prices ahead of November’s midterm elections.

I could not have predicted something like this.
I simply could not have.
This is simply too … vulgar.
If I were a writer, my political thriller novella would be rejected for including such an unsubtle plot beat. Real life could not have the president of a country being bombed by another country pledging diesel to the president of said country that is bombing them, so that said president’s party can perform better in the midterms. The suspension of disbelief required from the readers would be too high.
Like, that’s just a goofy plot twist.
No one would believe that the top leaders of the two top military powers in the world would act so brazenly. Because it would prove literally all the conspiracy theories about Putin being either craven or a pro-American shill correct, literally with a snap of the fingers. Those crazies who claimed that Putin saw himself as a temporarily embarrassed agent of Washington would be vindicated, eh?
Steven Starr notes that Russia is the first country in history to help its enemy to defeat Russia and Russia’s ally Iran by providing the US with more than a quarter of all the enriched uranium used for fuel in US nuclear power plants that supply 20% of the electricity to the US and 4,800,000 tons of diesel fuel to help Trump win reelection for the Republicans.

“Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel to the American and Global Marketplace, another 500,000 Tons during the month of November, and 1,000,000 Tons immediately thereafter,” Trump stated in a Truth Social Post, adding that Moscow could provide up to 3,000,000 tons of additional diesel “within a short period of time” depending on the state of its refineries, which have recently been under constant threat of long-range Ukrainian strikes.”
“Russia welcomes US steps aimed at stabilizing the global energy market and gradually restoring normal energy trade, and stands ready to coordinate future actions to create a more predictable and healthy market,” the Russian deputy prime minister stated.
