“In case you did not know about this, the Adhan, or Islamic call to prayer, is now blasting across Minneapolis five times per day [on public loudspeaker even at 3:30 a.m.]
“The Minneapolis City Council – with Muslim members – approved a resolution unanimously back in 2023 that changed the city’s noise ordinance to accommodate this public disruption.
“Minneapolis is the first major US city where the adhan has become law. Minneapolis set a precedent for other Muslim communities to follow.”
“New York City also broadcasts the Adhan on Fridays and during Ramadan. The broadcasts have to follow the city’s noise rules and not go over a certain number of decibels. There are more than 285 mosques today in New York City and 450,000 Muslims living there.”
