Florida’s housing market goes into meltdown
Justin Begley, an economist at Moody’s Analytics, says: “Given that living costs are typically at the top of household budget priorities, rising home-loan delinquencies signal an extraordinarily high level of financial stress by those who hold those loans.”
What is happening on the ground in Florida is a reflection of America’s so-called K-shaped economy. While those at the top end of the income spectrum are seeing their riches grow, those at the bottom are becoming increasingly overwhelmed by the cost of living and debt.
It is a problem that is mounting in urgency for Trump before the midterms. The president made endless promises on the campaign trail to bring down the cost of living. He knows that even rural Maga voters are now growing impatient to see results.
