Iran Alone Stands Up to Israeli-American Hegemony
Paul Craig Roberts
Iran is the first country to stand up to Israeli-American hegemony and force both would-be-hegemons to stand down. https://paulcraigroberts.org/iran-decides-to-take-matters-in-hand/
China and Russia have issued words in support of Iranian sovereignty and have used words to condemn the Israeli-American aggression against Iran, but have done nothing to aid Iran in withstanding the Netanyahu-Trump joint aggression against Iran.
Indeed, both the “turn-the-other-cheek” Putin and China’s Wang Yi, encouraged Iran not to fight but to submit to negotiations and world opinion. John Helmer reports that Wang Yi encouraged Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi to bring about a full stop of hostilities. Wang Yi, a powerful person in the Chinese government, spoke further through his spokesman: “China believes that bringing about a full stop of hostilities is of utmost urgency, a relapse in fighting must be avoided and sticking to negotiations is highly important.” In other words, China puts the onus on Iran not to respond to aggression and threats of invasion. What a great ally China is, and Putin is no better.
This statement from Wang Yi’s spokesperson demonstrates how unrealistic the Xi government in China is, as is the Kremlin. The Zionist agenda is “from the Nile to Pakistan,” which means as no Israeli government minister hesitates to say, Greater Israel’s claim to the Middle East. As former Israeli prime minister told the American Israel lobby last February, “Turkey is the next Iran.”
Apparently Wang Yi, like Putin and the Kremlin, is unaware of the Israeli Zionist agenda of Greater Israel despite Israeli government ministers holding up maps of Greater Israel. When Russia and China encourage Iran to place its existence in negotiation, what is the negotiation? The only question before Iran is Iran’s right to exist. The Zionist agenda of Greater Israel says Iran has no right too exist. So how does Iran negotiate whether or not the Israeli-Americans permit Iran to exist?
Putin and the Chinese are so far removed from comprehension of reality that they cannot comprehend that the hegemonic policy also applies to them. Once Israeli-America takes out Iran, jihadist forces will more into the Muslim area of the Russian Federation and into China’s Muslim providence bordering Kazakhstan.
Gilbert Doctorow poined out yesterday what I have emphasized for years: “Wars are not properly fought by folks who are saying only ‘woe is me’ to enemy attacks.”
When the Ukrainians with Western missiles and drones and US and UK targeting and guidance murder Russian children in schools, the Russian government is upset that the world does not contemn the attack. But why should the world be upset by 21 deaths of Russian children when the world–including Putin–accepts with scant comment Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian nation? “Woe to me,” says Russia as tens or hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and Lebanese are bombed to death, and Israel escapes without accountability.
Whether or not there is peace in the Middle East has nothing to do with Trump, Netandyahu, Putin, Xi, or Wang Yi, who are totally irrelevant. Peace in the Middle East depends only on whether the Iranian leadership can stand up to the pressure from their useless Russian and Chinese allies to deny Iran a victory by negotiating Iran’s right to exist.
Persia was once a powerful nation capable of standing up for itself against any threat. Perhaps Persia will again emerge, or perhaps the Iranian leadership will adopt the Russian/Chinese approach: “Negotiate, Don’t
Fight.” If Iran gives in to the pusillanimous approach of the Russians and Chinese, Iran will cease to exist, as will the rest of the Muslim Middle East.
